5th International Filmmor Women's Film Festival will take place between March 10 and 18 in Istanbul, before going on tour in Agrı, Van and Diyarbakır in eastern Turkey.

The festival organizers aim at increasing the visibility of women, women's experiences, accomplishments and products as well as problems they face.

Main theme of this year's festival is decided as "Honour". Tens of women are murdered by men each year in Turkey in the name of this term, which defines a strict and lethal role for women in the traditional patriarchal society.

Other three sections of the festival are as follows: "Women's Cinema", "Women's Cinema-Canada" and "Shorts by Women-Turkey". The official programme of the screenings is not revealed yet.

In addition to film screenings, an exhibition by nine female photographers, workshops, discussions and panels will be held during the festival.(EÜ)
